Zandberg

Zandberg

Zandberg is situated in the heart of red wine country, that is, amongst the rolling hills and breathtaking vistas just outside Stellenbosch. The cooling winds that hail from False Bay allow unique flavour characteristics to be embodied in our fine wines. Zandberg wines stand their own ground and have received gold and double gold awards at national and international wine shows. The owner is a firm believer in quality and has assembled a powerful team of wine experts.
Anton Bredell, a sixth generation winemaker, completed his wine studies in 1977 and graduated from the well known Elsenburg. He then began winemaking at his Grandfather’s cellar built in 1925 which to this day follows the original design and architecture. Today he proudly takes his place as Zandberg’s wine maker.
Basil Moss. You may say that you have never heard of him, but as a consumer of South African wines you would have drunk the “the fruits of his labour”. He is our hands on viticulturist and has a unique relationship and history with Zandberg.
Zandberg offers Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay cultivars. All of which are tentatively monitored from the vineyard, all the way into the bottles. Zandberg is fast securing its place amongst the most prestigious estates where quality, passion and true understanding come to fruition in their fine wines.
