iPhone makes wife love you

on the way back from the airport last night i had my first come to Jesus moment with my new beloved iPhone . it was late ish and we needed to get some food. there is nothing around the airport bwi yick. and the lady sparkler said she wanted something that wasn t fast food . like maybe baja fresh or panera and then proceeded to start chatting up her cell phone. so ever looking for reasons to play with my precious i brought up the fancy GPS map thing and typed in baja fresh. it immediately brought up my location the location of the closest baja fresh . miles towards D.C. plotted directions for me and then proceeded to blink a blue dot to guide me in. this in itself should have been enough to make me babble about the technology revolution all through dinner. however it turns out that when we made the blinking blue dot us match up with the steady red dot them there was no restaurant but when i clicked on the red dot to get more information about the restaurant there was a phone ! number listed which i clicked and the phone dialed it automatically . a nice boy told me we needed to go two blocks farther down the street. wifey ate i didn t go miles out of the way and evvvverybody was happy. i ve totally drunk the iPhone kool aid. nothing will come between me and my previous . noothiing . A new Congress a new approach to technology CNET via Yahoo News

Presidential elections may capture the public s attention as Barack Obama s victory did last week but the less glamorous work in the U.S. Congress tends to prove more important for technology topics. In general much of today s current congressional leadership will continue unchanged into the next albeit with some complications such as Obama s departure and some narrow Senate races including Minnesota s. Whatever the outcome Democrats are likely to be newly emboldened and may be eager to approve legislation that stalled in the th Congress including spyware regulations and a shield law that would protect some bloggers. The outlook is complicated by some shuffling in House and Senate committee leadership which is expected to take place next week. Two politicians are jockeying over chairmanship of the Energy and Commerce Committee which includes green tech and Internet regulation in its portfolio. And increased interest in intellectual property issues in the House Judiciary Comm! ittee has led John Conyers D Mich. to reorganize a key subcommittee. Same issues new players Energy related legislation will be one area of expected focus though a continued economic downturn could divert attention or Treasury funds. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken a personal leadership role in identifying and advancing a house innovation agenda which didn t really get as far as it should have said Robert Atkinson president of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation . Republicans are generally less oriented to pro active policies to spur innovation they re more interested in reducing barriers to innovation. Other issues expected to be addressed again next year include Net neutrality consumer privacy issues such as regulation over electronic medical records and patent reform. In the House look for Conyers and Rep. Ed Markey D Mass. chairman of the Telecommunications and the Internet panel in the House Energy and Commerce Committee to take the lead. On the S! enate side senators like Patrick Leahy D Vt. and Byron Dorgan D N.D. are likely to remain focused on tech related issues. Some new members are expected to bolster the Democrats commitment to tech issues particularly Mark Warner who is very technology savvy said Atkinson. Warner the former Democratic governor of Virginia was elected to fill the seat of retiring Republican Senator John Warner . After the election Computer and Communications Industry Association President Ed Black praised the new Democratic senators for their tech friendly platforms noting that Mark Udall of Colorado and Kay Hagan of North Carolina both pledged their support for Net neutrality during their campaigns. Some uncertainties exist on the tech policy front like who will chair the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force since Chair Gordon Smith R Ore. lost his seat last week. A senior aide to the task force said Republican leadership has yet to determine who will chair the group but its agenda will remain focused on issues like broadband deployment immigration reform and ! securing U.S. competitiveness in the global high tech marketplace. Additionally some Democratic agenda items which call for more spending and presumably higher taxes to fund those projects could fall by the wayside if moderate Democrats insist on maintaining a pay go system. Musical chairs It will be more clear how Congress intends to address tech policy once the Democratic caucus decides upon committee chairs next week. In both chambers the committee makeup plays a significant role in what issues come forward said Betsy Mullins vice president of government and political affairs for TechNet a bipartisan technology lobbying group. Having certain champions and people who understand your issues can only help you. In the senate Daniel K. Inouye D Hawaii is expected to replace Senator Robert Byrd D W.V. as chair of the Appropriations Committee leaving open his chairmanship of the Commerce Science and Transportation Committee . Sen. John Rockefeller D W.V. would logically assume ! the leadership role of the Commerce Committee though his office declined to comment on the subject. In that position he would assume responsibility for Congressional oversight of the digital television transition which many expect to be fraught with complications . The committee has jurisdiction over a number of tech issues and Mullins said Rockefeller would probably push forward broadband deployment legislation as he has tried to do for years and would encourage public private partnerships in scientific research. Critical subcommittees in the Senate Commerce Committee could face big changes as well. The science technology and innovation subcommittee is currently chaired by Sen. John Kerry D Mass. who is rumored to be a potential candidate for a cabinet position in the next administration. It s also possible the next Commerce chair could reinstate the communications subcommittee which Sen. Ted Stevens R Alaska eliminated in greatly reducing the influence in the committee of Sen. John McCain R Ariz. . Kerry would be in line to assume that leade! rship role but Dorgan a strong Net neutrality proponent could be a more likely choice some have said. Sen. Jeff Bingaman D N.M. has been a natural Silicon Valley ally as chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee . The committee may function differently even if Bingaman remains in that role however with the retirement of ranking Republican member Pete Domenici who as the other senator from New Mexico worked closely with Bingaman. Sen. Lisa Murkowski R Alaska as the next most senior Republican member of the committee may fill the GOP leadership role. Power play On the House side a battle is brewing over the chairmanship of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Rep. Henry Waxman D Calif. who currently chairs the Oversight and Government Reform Committee is bidding to replace Rep. John Dingell D Mich. as head of Energy and Commerce. Dingell who has chaired the committee for years is defending his seat with strong support from other Democrats. Waxman s challenge is a stun! ning development said a representative from the communications industry given Dingell s longstanding history in the committee. While both congressmen are considered to be smart and tough politicians he said Dingell is more business friendly which could be important given the state of the economy. As an ally of the auto industry Dingell does not always win the approval of environmental groups but is seen as being able to work across party lines. In October he introduced legislation to cut greenhouse gas emissions with Rep. Rick Boucher D Va. . Dingell has a long record of fostering communications and technology issues said an Energy and Commerce Committee spokesperson that includes promoting competition among communications service providers and overseeing preparation of the digital TV transition. Still Waxman said in a statement PDF My record shows that I have the skill and ability to build consensus and deliver legislation that improves the lives of all Americans. The House Judiciary Committee is also in flux now that Conyers has decided to r! estructure the courts the Internet and intellectual property subcommittee . Intellectual property will now be under the jurisdiction of the full committee antitrust topics get their own subcommittee. Subcommittee Chair Howard Berman D Calif. announced earlier this year he would give up his position to chair the House Foreign Affairs Committee instead so the vacancy created an convenient time to restructure the subcommittee. A Judiciary staff member said interest in intellectual property issues has grown dramatically in the full committee so the change gives more members a chance to weigh in on the issue. He said it is still undetermined who will chair the subcommittee. There has been speculation that another leadership role critical to technology could end up changing hands in a House Energy and Commerce Committee subcommittee. Ed Markey D Mass. a politician prone to grandstanding on topics like the iPhone and AT s office declined to comment about the chairmanships. Product! How to Create an Outline For All of Your Article

Home About Felix Adekola s Wealth Insights Bringing You More Free Helpful Tips To Help You Uncover Simple But Genuine Ways To Make Money Online and Also Boost Your Online Business. Enter your search terms Submit search form Mon Sep How to Create an Outline For All of Your Article Felix Adekola We ve done it through junior high it expanded longer through high school then on college it became chapters. No matter how many times a person have done it writing articles has proven to be a task many has continuously avoided. Now at a time when writing articles could help your job or work facing the job at hand can be still faced with unfriendly behavior. While there are a great number of people who do not have the same attitude in article writing as others there are still those who would rather walk in piping hot coals than do some article writing. What set other people apart from other towards article writing is that they are prepared and has some methods and procedures in writing ! articles. One of the methods you can use to prepare yourself when tasked to write in article is creating an outline first. Creating an outline for all your articles makes you prepared. You have an idea of what to do first and make a plan for your succeeding steps. Being prepared makes the job easier and faster. Being organized will allow for disorientation to be shunned away. An outline can act as the design or blueprint for your article. This will guide you in creating the introduction body and conclusion of your article. Here in this point you can write down some of the ideas and sentences that you feel will look good in your article. This could be some of the focal point that could help make your article creative interesting and appealing to a reader. A carefully planned and fully prepared project would guarantee and ensure a problem and worry free procedure that can virtually go without any hassles. Creating an outline for all your articles will get you ready and breeze! through writing an article in no time at all. Here I will provide you with some tips and guidelines in how to create an outline for all of your articles. Do a couple of brainstorming and jot down your brilliant ideas first. Think of some ways to attract the interest of your reader. Designate a time frame where you can write down all the ideas that you can use for your articles. By this time you should have done all your research and information searching. Review and reread your ideas and notes gain mastery and sufficient familiarity with your topic so that writing them down later own would be easy for you. The next step is to discover your sub topic and sub titles. As you would provide a first sentence for your article one that would immediately grab the attention of your reader you would need some as well for your sub topics. To be concise you would need to get all the facts that will support and go against your point. These are the frames or skeleton of your article now its time to add the flesh and the meat of your article. You will need t! o connect all your paragraphs and sub topics. This will form the body of your Article. While the introduction will usher in the ideas of your paragraph you will need a conclusion. The conclusion will wrap up your points and drive in what you are saying in your article. The outline for your article would also require you to write a draft first. This may take more than one attempt but remember that it is called a draft for a reason. Your outline shall be perfected as each draft is written and this draft is meant for your eyes only so there s no reason to feel ashamed. As you go on you will clearly see the bigger picture and write an article that will perfectly suit what is demanded of it. Reread and reread what you have written down. Always refer to your outline so that you wont drift away from what you had first written down. Its not hard to be caught in the moment and get lost in your writing frenzy. Your outline will help you keep in track. All those hours spent in outlini! ng your article will not go to waste. This will serve as your guide in writing articles. Trust and rely on your outline because this will prove to be a very helpful tool in writing all of your articles. The Afghan hound impregnated two cloned bitches of the same breed through artificial insemination a Seoul National University SNU research team said in a statement. This is the first time in the world that puppies have been born from cloned parents team leader Lee Byung Chun told AFP. One of the puppies which were born between May and died but nine others are healthy he said. This shows the reproductive ability of a cloned dog Lee said. Forex merchandiser software is becoming very commonly used by millions of people all over the world.

The first thing you should make sure it has is a reasonable price. I would not pay anything over $150 for forex trader software of any kind-hearted. I think around $100 is what you should aim for. I have heard of products that charge hundreds of dollars per month just for their service! Earnings can be very height with forex trading, but that is a lot of money to pay.

The second thing that I can tell you to check out, as an experienced trader, is narcotic addict testimonials. Scroll through the product page and make sure that people are posting positive reviews of the salesperson software. If people are happy with it, you can feel comfortable that you are getting a quality product.

Magic and mischief Visitors to Troll Knoll need walking shoes and a sense of humor The Sacramento Bee

John Morris sometimes greets visitors to his Penn Valley garden dressed as a troll green shorts leather boots black top hat black vest white tuxedo shirt and a walking stick topped with a feather duster. He looks at you with intensely blue eyes and in a quiet voice tinged with a gentle Southern Mississippi accent he weaves a fanciful tale about gremlins and trolls making mischief in the garden. The wonderful witch of the west you see turned the gremlins to stone though if you accidentally kick one they still can hurt you and the trolls demand coins for crossing the bridges. He describes the escapades of the Western rinkydinks that inhabit the property corner. They hide behind rocks and trip you as you go down the paths he says. People see this old fool and have no idea that s going to happen Morris says. At first they re a little quiet but it becomes an icebreaker after they get it. Welcome to Troll Knoll. It s a acre garden perched on a hillside elevation feet. A carefully ! orchestrated yet carefree ramble it s a sanctuary Morris says and his home is inside it. We never intended to have a home with a garden. We intended this be a home in the garden a fanciful place and what I get to do here is anything that strikes my imagination. Morris and his wife Ann bought the property years ago five years after the er fire scorched the area. Charred remains of massive pines stood gaunt over the blackened landscape. They removed hundreds of dead trees. The property was rich with vistas. In fact there are more than spots in the garden where you can see the Feather Yuba and Sacramento rivers the Sierra Buttes the Coast Range Lassen Peak the Tahoe Rim or the Siskiyous. Wide formal paths meander up to the house the air heavy with the scent of rosemary and lavender. A long sward of strappy leaved kniphofia sends up tall spires topped with orange and yellow flowers. Beautiful visitors say. Stunning. But there s more. Morris leads guests down a narrow path throu! gh a grove of oaks and cautions that the trees have eyes. It takes a minute or two to spot them. By the time the visit is over guests will have toured a vineyard maze a ghost town called Annsville with a mine temperance hall and shops ruins complete with Roman style balustrades and statues several ponds an abandoned racetrack a frog dance stage flowery meadows a vegetable garden a swamp dinosaurs a golf course no grass only sand traps and a trailer park called Pinky s that sports three Airstream trailers and plenty of pink flamingos. Along the back of the U shaped house is the high heel walk with formal clipped plantings. Morris paved the paths so Ann could take an evening stroll while still dressed in her business clothes. Add concrete vegetables to the list a spirit house and melons growing in beds perched atop arbors. The garden contains more than two miles of paths miles of irrigation pipe roses daylilies trees types of waterlilies types of fruit trees including citrus trees and apple trees and drip irrigation heads. A system of French dra! ins and ponds recovers runoff. Water for the sprinkler system is only available April through October. The rest of the year the garden has to rely on Mother Nature s whims to survive. Best of all the house and garden are solar powered. Despite the mammoth scale of the garden Morris estimates he uses fewer than different types of plants all of them commonly planted and commonly available. The secret he says is in the way they re arranged. I take easy to maintain common plants that would be boring by themselves and put them together in interesting combinations. I have a drawing on my wall using white and yellow daisies blue agapanthus gray dusty miller and blue salvia in front of ornamental grasses. Well all of those are very common. I ve made mistakes but I ve been more surprised at how things can fit together. He has a library of digital photos. Morris gets ideas and solves problems in the garden by looking at the photos in the evening. I have a good time imagining things i! n the garden that would be beautiful to look at and I try to build them. His most recent project an anthill. Dubbed The Power of Two it consists of two concrete and steel ants about feet long working together. Look past the ants though and you ll see hundreds of smaller ants crawling over the hill almost feet long. People don t expect that he says. He recently spent a day weeding his ponds and dividing waterlilies. It was really hot and I was able to take every lily pad leaf and decide whether to keep it. The fish would come up and I d feed them bugs off the lily pads. How can you explain being in a fly fishing floaty in the middle of a pond feeding your fish If someone walks by they d think you re totally nuts. The pond looked like a Monet painting when I finished so how do I complain about a life like that He also tells of friends who brought their granddaughter to visit. He met them at the entrance dressed as a troll. The little girl got a tour of the garden from a real troll. You see it s not the gardening that s so significant it s the th! ings that happen in it like the little girl visiting. It s things like getting a peach pie out of my peaches. Kuwaitis blame ruling family feuds for instability AFP via Yahoo News

Candidates in Kuwait s parliamentary elections have charged that fighting within the ruling family is behind the political turmoil that has rocked the oil rich emirate in recent years. Unprecedented criticism of the ruling Al Sabah dynasty has emerged amid campaigning ahead of Saturday s vote in the Gulf nation. The main problem in the domestic political arena is the feud among members of the ruling family Islamist candidate Khaled Sultan told a campaign rally on Sunday night. It is a problem that needs to be resolved and the solution is in the hands of the emir alone Sultan insisted. He was echoing several liberal and independent candidates who have voiced concern that family infighting had undermined the previous parliament which was dissolved in March. Kuwait is paying the price of these disputes . No one can doubt our loyalty to the Al Sabah but differences should not be allowed to continue because they are affecting political life and parliament said liberal MP Mohammad! al Sager. Some candidates have accused senior member of the family of interfering in the election but no one has questioned the legitimacy of the dynasty which has been in power for years. In fact all thoe critics have said they want the squabbling to end so that the family can lead the country to greater prosperity. They should know that the whole Kuwaiti people . want them and refuse any attempt to create a problem between them and us said independent candidate Marzouk al Ghanem. In January the royal family faced a succession row the most serious in a century after the death of the emir Sheikh Jaber al Ahmad al Sabah. His successor ailing emir Sheikh Saad Abdullah al Sabah was voted out of office by parliament only nine days after ascending the throne. Lawmakers later confirmed then prime minister Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Sabah as new ruler. Kuwait s rulers have been more tolerant to criticism than their counterparts in other parts of the Gulf allowing a wide margin of f! reedom including a relatively free and lively press. They pride themselves on not having a single political prisoner in the emirate. However the emirate s rulers have dissolved parliament five times in the past three decades two of them without immediately calling fresh elections. Two of those dissolutions resulted from a standoff between MPs and the government but some candidates say it was more because of family infighting affecting parliament. What has been happening lately is a struggle among some members of the ruling family and they have made parliament the arena of this infighting former minister and parliamentary candidate Abdulmohsen al Mudej told a rally. If members of the family strike a compromise we will have a new parliament much different from the previous one Sager said. Political stalemate in the emirate has motivated some political groups and former MPs to call for reforms that would include legalising political parties which are banned and appointing a commoner as prime minister. Besides the emir and crown prince the ruling ! family controls the premiership and all the so called sovereign ministries defense interior and foreign affairs. OPEC member Kuwait is pumping . million barrels of oil per day and has state foreign assets of over billion dollars. Its native population is just over one million along with . million foreign residents. Yahoo faces shareholder ire after deal collapses CNN

Yahoo chief execu! tive Jerry Yang faces a battle to save his job analysts predict. The first signs of outrage flared Monday as Yahoo s stock plunged percent in reaction to Microsoft withdrawal of its sweetened per share bid and two lawyers already suing the company s board vowed to amend their complaint to account for a massive loss in shareholder value. The breaking point in the month standoff occurred over the weekend when Yahoo co founders Jerry Yang and David Filo met with Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer after he had agreed to raise the software maker s bid by about billion or more than per share. Yang and Filo said Yahoo s board wanted per share a price the company s stock hasn t reached in more than two years. In response Ballmer pulled his offer off the table. In an interview Monday Yang indicated he had expected Ballmer to counter. We engaged with them and we wanted to find a way to get something done. But they walked said Yang who was named as Yahoo s chief executive officer! months ago. If he wants to remain CEO Yang probably will have to show his turnaround strategy is compelling enough to propel Yahoo s stock beyond per share within a year. Yang has promised that a more sophisticated and far flung ad network will accelerate Yahoo s net revenue growth by at least percent in and up from the recent pace of percent increase. The company is doing better than three months ago Yang said Monday. I think in many ways this takeover threat has been good for us. We still have a lot of work to do to demonstrate that we can be successful and I am focused on that. Don t Miss CNN Money Microsoft withdraws bid for Yahoo Microsoft Yahoo fail to resolve bid impasse Business Yahoo plays hardball But Yang s credibility has been undermined by Yahoo s repeated forecasts of better times ahead while its profits steadily eroded during the past two years. We are not willing to give Yahoo the benefit of the doubt that they can make meaningful improvement over the next three years UBS analysts Benjamin Schachter Heather Bellini and Abhey L! amba wrote in a joint research note. If Yahoo stumbles that could entice Microsoft to return with another takeover bid that would be more difficult to turn down. Venture capitalist Todd Dagres of Spark Capital likened this approach to a crocodile s. Rather than try to eat its prey while it s warm and tough Microsoft is dragging it down to the bottom of the river sticking it under a rock and eating it later when it s cold and soft he said. Although Microsoft has publicly indicated it will focus on measures besides buying Yahoo in its effort to make its Internet division profitable several analysts predicted the software maker will revive its offer in the summer or fall if Yahoo doesn t snap out of its two year funk the weakness that exposed it to an unwanted takeover in the first place. Should the frustration of Yahoo shareholders come to a boil we believe Microsoft could re enter the picture essentially playing the role of the white knight analyst David Hilal of Friedman Bi! llings Ramsey Co. wrote in a Monday research note. With similar opinions reverberating through the stock market Yahoo s stock didn t sink as dramatically as many analysts anticipated. But Yahoo shares shed . to close at . wiping out nearly half the gain they had made since Microsoft made its bid Jan. . The drop left the Sunnyvale based company s market value about . billion below Microsoft s last offer. Yahoo s stock price was . before Microsoft made its offer. I was expecting to see a more extreme reaction to Microsoft s withdrawn bid Stanford Group analyst Clayton Moran said. Microsoft is trying to make it seem like it s not coming back with another bid but this somewhat muted reaction shows the market isn t buying it. If Microsoft returned with a real offer and a real proposal Yang said we would be happy to listen. Yang figures to get an earful from irate shareholders at the annual meeting. Yahoo finally set the meeting for July after indefinitely postponing it in early spring as part of its effort to foil a possible hostile takeover attemp! t by Microsoft. Now it may be Yahoo s shareholders who try to oust Yang and the rest of Yahoo s board instead of Ballmer who had threatened an attempt to dump the directors if they didn t accept Microsoft s offer. Lawyers for two Detroit based public pension funds that sued Yahoo in February alleging it failed in its duty to act in shareholders best interests will amend their complaint to include the weekend s events according to a statement Monday from the firm Bernstein Litowitz Berger Grossmann. Meanwhile Google Inc. whose dominance in online search triggered Microsoft s bid appears poised to grow even stronger. Unnerved by the prospect of its two biggest rivals joining forces Google reached out to Yahoo to help thwart Microsoft s bid. The collaboration has prompted Yahoo to consider turning over some of its advertising space to Internet search leader Google whose technology yields higher profits from commercial links. If Yahoo announces an ad partnership with Google tha! t could preclude a renewed bid from Microsoft because Ballmer thinks the alliance will diminish Yahoo s long term value. Many analysts share Ballmer s opinion. While Google could boost Yahoo revenue by anywhere from million to . billion annually it might also hurt Yahoo by undercutting the appeal of its own ad platform. An alliance between Google and Yahoo also would cause regulatory headaches because antitrust officials would to take a hard look at the partnership because the companies combined control more than percent of the Internet s search advertising market. While analysts debated how Yahoo and Microsoft should proceed most agreed Google will benefit from the aborted takeover attempt. Even if Google doesn t end up selling ads on Yahoo s heavily trafficked Web site it has kept some of the Internet s biggest services out of Microsoft s clutches. We believe Google is a major winner given the failure of the Yahoo bid Stifel Nicolaus analyst George Askew wrote in a Monday note. Google is well positioned to continue to gain market share benef! it from any Yahoo advertising deal and exploit any ongoing chaos at Yahoo and Microsoft. Google shares gained . or . percent to close at . Monday. Time Warner Inc. also appears to be in a better negotiating position if it decides to sell its struggling AOL subsidiary as many analysts anticipate. Yahoo had been mulling a possible combination with AOL s online operations as a defensive measure against Microsoft. Now Microsoft may make a run at AOL if it s interest in buying Yahoo is truly dead. And if Microsoft enters the picture Google might offer to increase its percent stake in AOL just to repel Microsoft. A long list of Internet startups also could be in line for big windfalls if Microsoft and Yahoo step up their efforts to acquire more online weapons to challenge Google. And if Microsoft and Yahoo go shopping Google has plenty of cash to get into bidding wars for potential takeover targets like Digg Inc. LinkedIn Corp. and Facebook Inc. Freed of one another Yahoo and Mic! rosoft are buyout prospectors we would expect a rush to deal environment BMO Capital Markets analyst Leland Westerfield. Most analysts believe Microsoft has to make some kind of bold move after its online division lost million through the first nine months of the company s fiscal year. Any notion of simply returning to the original pre Yahoo strategy is likely to be insufficiently defined and credible Bernstein Research analyst Charles Di Bona wrote in a Monday note. In a mild surprise Microsoft shares fell cents to . Monday. Most analysts thought the stock would climb because investors had driven down the shares during the last three months on worries that a Yahoo takeover would turn into an expensive mess. The Girls of Your Initial Dreams 4

Leisure is the pastime which is spent in the period of time when a person doesn't have any business or any other things to do. It also does not consist of the compulsory activities such as having dinner or having some sleep. To be permitted and to be free are the notions of the word licere that derives from Latin and has become the word leisure. But the terms leisure and leisure time came to us from the period of industrial revolution when a working day was diminished to 8 hours and people had 2 official days off. At that period holidays and hobbies appeared. People divide free time into two types: active and passive. Active leisure includes various activities such as soccer, tennis etc. Playing draughts or writing a book are also active free time because these activities need your mental efforts. And passive free time is a period of time when you do not strain your mind and body for some result. It may be watching TV, spieling on slot machines and many other things to do. Many people say that passive free time is unreasonable and it destroys all the delights of free time. And still, this kind of leisure is more popular than active one among many people. Escort kiev offer you to have your leisure time in the surrounding of amazing girls. A lot of people are also afraid of the notion prostitute. These days a bad relation to the prostitutes is still left but it is lesser than several years ago. But this attitude is absolutely depends on the social point of view on sex in general. From the one hand sex presents you a pleasure. As a conclusion we can consider sex an average article of trade that one may buy everywhere. And the other point is that prostitution is not related to sex activities that are directed to making children. At all ages people tabooed diverse sexual relations and rebuked everybody who had such relationships. In the totalitarian regime countries were the streakiest censure on sex and prostitution in general. But in the middle of the twentieth century the situation absolutely changed, especially on the West. Society use this word in many different occasions and can introduce any notion or profession with the help of this word. We can name any political person a political prostitute if he is connected with corruption. But today's philosophy instructs us to be tolerant to everybody and prostitutes are also contained in this list. Don't be scared of this notion and contact our company to have a magnificent pleasure with our ladies.

Google struggling to monetise online video

Google CEO Eric Schmidt came out earlier this week saying that he hasn t yet figured out the perfect solution for making money from online video. His comments come after Google s earnings report revealed that the . bn acquisition of YouTube is yet to reap the kind of financial rewards that were hoped for. But across the board advertising in online video is something that still hasn t been addressed properly and the PCTV market is going through an interesting phase. Lack of content has already forced the once heralded Joost to retreat to the US and niche content areas. Hulu is doing well with content but finding many of the same issues with advertising as the rest of the market. Meanwhile others such as Vuze are hoping that a technology advantage in delivering high def content will help them gain cut through. But while different online video providers are fighting to carve out their own niche none has yet addressed the major issue for driving advertising revenue and that is f! inding a genuine format and solution that works for advertisers and educating them about it. Schmidt was typically cryptic about what answers Google has planned saying only that top secret new products would be launched this year and that the advertising format whatever it is will be valuable to consumers as well as advertisers themselves. He insisted they will go far beyond the in line text ads overlays and top and tail ads that are already common with online video. Until then plenty of others are just playing catch up and trying to squeeze more value out of a model that is far from perfect. Warner Bros has just announced that it will offer its DVD film titles online on demand on the same day they release the DVDs which is progress but a long time coming. Having Your ID Stolen Leads to Job Loss Prosecution

ConfusedVorlon writes The BBC reports on the sad case of Simon Bunce. Mr. Bunce had his identity stolen and credit cards were made to capitalize on the theft. Some of those cards were used at sites offering child pornography and as a result Mr. Bunce was swept up in Operation Ore. The poor man was prosecuted for his crime and was eventually found innocent but in the meantime he lost his job. It took him six months to find another at a quarter of the salary. The police s computer technicians take several months to examine his computers and records and Mr Bunce could not afford to wait to repair the damage done to his reputation. I knew there d been a fundamental mistake made and so I had to investigate it. Recent surveys suggest that as many as one in four Britons have been affected by it. In more than cases of identity theft were identified by Cifas the UK s fraud prevention service an increase of almost on . Read more of this story at Slashdot. Share Last Modified April th ! In a constitutional state the police and the prosecuting authority have the job of investigating and indicting not lawyers and communication engineers says Hallstein Bjercke from IKT Norway in a press release. A Little Something You Can Touch HBOs Wire and the Politics of Visual Media

The Kugelmass Episodes What we cannot speak about we must pass over in silence About GreatestHits Forgotten Satiric Genius ChristianSch tze A Little Something You Can Touch HBO s Wire and the Politics of VisualMedia March pm Posted in Art Aesthetics Ethics Morality Film Foucault Literature Movies Philosophy Politics Pop Culture Psychoanalysis Religion Self Sex and sexuality The Valve x posted to The Valve Spend some on a little something you can touch. A new car a new coat.it s why we get up in the morning. The Greek You want it to be one way but it s the other way. Marlo Talking about The Wire which most of the people I know do twice per day is like repeating a mantra Season is the police station. Season is the docks. Season is the streets or more inaccurately politics . Season is public schools. Season is the press I haven t even seen Season but I must ve heard that six times already. People talk about each season as though they were separate reports from the President s C! ouncil Have you started Season yet Wait you didn t see Season The show s schematic design encourages people to talk about it in ways usually reserved for non fiction with an emphasis on its structural critiques of one poorer than average city Baltimore and maybe a comment in passing about the show s brilliant detective fuck up in residence McNulty. Yes McNulty s no angel but the terms of the discussion are themselves interesting and relevant to the perspective of the show s writers. The Wire unlike for example The Sopranos and Six Feet Under is a show written almost entirely from outside the consciousness of its characters. Whereas in the case of Tony Soprano or Claire Fisher we felt their highs and lows inhabited their dreams and saw how their psychic lives bled into reality The Wire keeps its distance from the cast and does a good job of representing the systems that contain them. This not the pseudo philosophy of Ayn Rand ought properly to be called the new objectivism a! nd it is a sign of the increasing dominance of visual representation e..g. the television serial as well as of a certain form of functionalist liberalism. I d expect nothing less of a show whose very title substitutes media for persons and I m not critical of The Wire per se rather I think of the show as one of the best versions of a paradigm that should not be allowed to foreclose other ways of seeing. First of all The Wire did not exactly invent the drama of the insubordinate detective who bucks the front office to catch crooks. I m reminded of the brilliant Dirty Harry parody in The Simpsons Chief You busted up that crack house pretty bad McGonigle. Did you really have to break so much furniture McGonigle You tell me Chief. You had a pretty good view from behind your desk. Homer Ah McGonigle eases the pain. Chief You re off the case McGonigle McGonigle You re off your case Chief Chief What does that mean exactly Homer yelling It means he gets results you stupid chief Lisa Dad sit down. Homer Oh I m sorry. The dynamic goes all the way back to! the formative years of noir which has two particularly interesting features as a genre. First of all from pretty early on it had a very cozy relationship with film and television. Works by James M. Cain Dashiell Hammett Raymond Carver and Mickey Spillane among others were adapted brilliantly for the screen. Film noir directors like Alfred Hitchcock worked with both film and television and characters like Mike Hammer were used for both. Noir writing was heavily influenced by Ernest Hemingway s journalistic prose and emphasized action and things in precise staccato sentences. It came of age during Hollywood s Golden Age and in fact in noir novels one can watch two things begin to fuse the vicarious gaze of visual media and a journalistic insistence on unvarnished facts. Noir was also a genre filled with sins and dark lusts crime drugs deviant sexuality and whole ensembles of morally gray Machiavellis. It indulged our appetites but retained an antiseptic distance suggesting m! ore than it showed. The noir hero makes sense of this purgatorial darkness by accepting man s sinful nature for what it is and also by martyring himself through a pantomime of corruption. He drinks without getting drunk kisses almost without changing his expression. He sinks to the depths and yet the depths do not claim him he is not aloof but he does not succumb. He is in fact the personification of the camera and a familiarly American notion of original sin grounds all the facts the narrating eye fearlessly reveals. The best example of how the noir genre then transforms into a politics comes during the third season when The Wire broaches the subject of legalizing drugs. A renegade major establishes free zones in three places in Western Baltimore enabling drug addicts to purchase and use drugs without interference. The show s perspective on this is pretty much in line with all the sound arguments for legalizing drugs violent crime goes down and some public health outreach becomes possible that would have been impossible before. While the mayo! r is debating whether he can sell the free zones to the public and the Feds an aspiring candidate for mayor gets hold of the news and blows the whistle. So far so good. Somewhere in the back of it all you can hear David Simon saying If you d seen what I ve seen you d favor legalization too and I agree with him. That said after watching the show for three seasons it begins to dawn on you that you have no idea what s drawing people to the free zones. You ve seen the character Bubbles getting high maybe a dozen times then nodding off cut . You see McNulty and Bunk drinking Jameson until they fall down on the train tracks and cut . You see the newly hired soldier in Barksdale s army walking into the room with a prostitute and cut . It is critical to see how up to the minute this strange marriage of invasiveness and incuriosity really is. On the one hand we know everything the characters are doing my point is certainly not that the show ought to be more vicarious. The show is ca! lled The Wire after all and despite being filmed during the heyday of the Patriot Act the show never has the slightest twinge of guilt about any form of surveillance including wiretaps obtained specifically by manipulating anti terrorist statutes to aid an ongoing drug investigation. On the other hand we only rarely understand why a character indulges in the vices that drive the show just as it is presently fashionable to be frustrated and impatient with other causal theories of human behavior such as psychoanalysis. The synchronicity of journalistic objectivity visual representation and the privileging of plot representation of action over representations of consciousness ultimately produces functionalism people are what they do and they do what they do. If that sounds like circular reasoning well it is just like Avon s No Marlo no game. If people are going to do drugs they might as well be able to do it safely without spreading disease or swamping the criminal justice system. That s true but it s possibly not as trenchant as Trainspotting wh! ich begins and ends with a snarling and famous indictment of the alternative Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television Choose washing machines cars compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind numbing sprit crushing game shows stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all pishing you last in a miserable home nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish fucked up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life. But why would I want to do a thing like that I chose not to choose life I chose somet! hing else. At many points The Wire can t improve on a paternalistic version of laissez faire why can t the drug trade exist in harmony with the world like other trades The pushers sell the users indulge and McNulty s there listening in case things get out of hand. Whereas in The Sopranos it was understood that the Jersey gangsters were a microcosm for capitalism and the toll the proverbial cut taken out of every life was very heavy. Arguably The Wire is better as a narrative than The Sopranos and it is much better than Six Feet Under . The plotting in Six Feet Under was horrible a subplot about a missing woman that dragged on forever pointlessly complicated medical drama multiple drug induced revelations and petty and ultimately boring villainy. Furthermore the show indulged a kind of histrionic American WASP self concern in which nothing beyond the personal appeared to have any existence at all. That said Claire Fisher s gradual development into an artist was a credible version of a wayward and often invisible process of individuation. In her! case at least something came of all that chaotic and destructive desire in a process that involved both her and us in wrestling with interiority . When visual media have to do this it tends to jam the narrative machine. Transpotting resorts to the voice over. Both The Sopranos and Six Feet Under employed talky dream sequences and quoted extensively from Yeats Wordsworth and the Bhagavad Gita . It was often insufferable though other directors like David Lynch can make the awkwardness charming. I m ready to admit that The Wire may be more perfect for its medium simply because it doesn t play around nervously and ironically with sermons taken from religious and literary texts. I ll end with two characters from The Wire s second season Frank Sobotka and Ziggy. If McNulty symbolically martyrs himself on his debauches Frank literally martyrs himself. He works himself to the bone up to and including getting involved with every sort of illegal trading in order to keep the docks he! represents alive. He processes a huge amount of dirty cash but sees none of it passing everything along to his men. He is a creature of such integrity that he actually worries his associate a criminal boss known as The Greek. Meanwhile every thing Frank tries to do is undone by Ziggy his son who goes even further into crime and then spends the money on fancy jackets and a duck with a diamond studded collar . When Frank confronts Ziggy about his risky behavior Ziggy gives a rather pathetic response about the decline of Baltimore s industries. He s sad that things aren t how they used to be and that s why he goes into the union bar and sets fire to a hundred dollars. It s a joke of a causal explanation and yet Ziggy sees the hopelessness of the situation feelingly in a way Frank cannot. Instead Frank just keeps going trying to make it all cohere until he winds up dead. We have had a great deal of mysterious badness lately within and without Sheriff Ed Tom Bell describes Anton Chigurh as a ghost in No Country for Old Men . In the same film anoth! er character says Whatcha got ain t nothin new. This country s hard on people you can t stop what s coming. Whether it s the dry Texas plains or the Baltimore projects the people who move across these places are ghosts to us we see them but we don t know who they are. What makes Avon Barksdale turn out so differently from Stringer Bell Why is Greggs driven down the same path as McNulty What makes an Omar a Landsman a Royce I won t ever know the answer. I ll have to talk about bureaucracies and I ll have to ask people which seasons they ve seen. But Ziggy Alas poor Ziggy I knew him readers.
