Leona Lewis has made history by becoming the first British solo artist ever to score a number one in the US album chart with a debut LP. The former The X Factor winner claimed the top spot in the Billboard album chart by shifting copies of her debut album Spirit in its first week of release. Spirit which has already sold more than million copies worldwide in the last six months saw off competition from last week s number one Troubadour by George Gait which sold under copies.
